Hanoi RR Yard and Station

Civilians did not use the trains that stopped here. The cars were full of SAM missles coming south from Red China. The entirerail yard, along with a considerable amount of rolling stock and supplies, were totally destroyed in the Linebacker II raids in December, 1972. The yard was struck by F-4 Phantoms using laser guided bombs to avoid collateral damage.

Fifty-seven B-52 sorties (19 cells) dropped 2,371 bombs, and four F-4 sorties dropped 8 Laser Guided Bombs (LGB).
